Make sure your dog is in an environment they are familiar with and won't cause distractions when you introduce The Busy Blanket. We want focused sniffing, not squirrel chasing. Let them watch you place a treat in one of the pockets, near the pocket opening. Encourage them to find it and praise them when they do. Gradually increase the challenge, by placing the treat deeper into the pocket. Keep guiding, helping, and praising as they find the treats. You can even puff up the pocket to help make it easier for them to get inside. Once they are able to find the treats consistently, start placing them at the bottom of the pockets. Keep praising and encouraging them. It will soon become their favorite. Then just load up each pocket with a treat and let them loose. In no time, they'll be the Sherlock in their own thrilling sniff-detective story.

Yes! We encourage daily sniffing with The Busy Blanket, as it's highly enriching for your dog. Just be mindul of treat calories – a 100 lb Labrador can sniff out a fully loaded Busy Blanket (1 treat per pocket)  5-6 times per day. A smaller dog may be limited to 1-2 times per day to  avoid overfeeding. Which is exactly why we created Tiny Treats for sniff games. They pair perfectly with The Busy Blanket.

The Busy Blanket is made of durable cotton, but it can still be ripped. Minor pulling, and sometimes tearing, is normal  as dogs learn to navigate the pockets. If the pulling persists, it may be due to inadequate training and positive reinforcement.
